REPORT ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS IN GERMANY
The whole group had an opportunity to observe and learn how does the geothermal plant work. The plant in Aschhaim that we have visited provides the energy and warm water for four neighboring villages. The worker of the plant very clearly described the process of producing energy from the depth of the Earth.
Between 19th and 23rd November 2012 participants of Comenius project Foreign Mirrors visited Aschhaim located in the region of Germany known as Bavaria.
Another very interesting place was a farm that used solar panels placed on the roofs of almost all of the farm buildings. The farm could provide the energy for its own needs. On the farm we could also see animals and learn about the stock-breeding. We were impressed by the conditions, the animals on the farm live.
There was a guided tour with the forester in the small old park. We noticed that in that forest there is no problem with rubbish. The wood was clean and the vegetation was healthy. There were special paths for walks.
As opposed to Poland in Germany there were clean sidewalks and the green parts of the village – there was no litter or animal excrements. We did not notice any pariah dogs. In Poland such animals are almost everywhere. It is a plague, that is really hard to fight with. Moreover, such animals might be dangerous for people.
In Bavaria, we noticed lots of greenery around the industrial areas.
The railway service is very well developed and offers various connections.
Among good practices in Germany we also noticed bad ones. There are many cars and the traffic moves really quickly. The aftermath of it is the pollution of the natural environment, and as follows, the distinction of some rare species of animals and plants.
Each European country should protect and preserve its natural and cultural environment since they belong to the whole Europe.

The aim of the "Foreign Mirrors" project is to make students observe the human impact on environment of a foreign country and make evaluations on good examples and bad examples of what people of that country have done to their environment.
Celem projektu "Foreign Mirrors" jest to, aby uczniowie obserwując wpływ człowieka na środowisko w obcym kraju, formułowali oceny na temat dobrych i złych przykładów tego, co ludzie z tego kraju zrobili dla środowiska.
