Raport o zagrożeniach środowiska
Okolice Gminy Stanin są wykorzystywane rolniczo, brak jest większych zakładów przemysłowych, ewentualne zanieczyszczenia są pochodzenia rolniczego lub też są odpadami pochodzącymi z gospodarstw domowych.
W rzeczkach płynących w okolicy jest życie, przy dnie rośnie moczarka kanadyjska i inne rośliny, występują cierniki i zwierzęta bezkręgowe. Wokół nich występują podmokłe łąki, gdzie plagą w okresie letnim jest liczne występowanie komarów jak też innych gatunków owadów. Gdy badamy organoleptycznie próbki wody, wykazuje ona brak zanieczyszczeń organicznych, jest bezbarwna i bez zapachu. W wodzie zdarzają się porzucone śmieci typu puszki i butelki plastikowe.
Mieszkańcy mają możliwość bezpłatnego, posortowanego oddawania śmieci. Duża grupa mieszkańców ma podpisane umowy na ich wywóz. Nie można stwierdzić, co z odpadami robią pozostali mieszkańcy. Są pojedyncze przypadki, że prawdopodobnie spalają w przydomowych kotłowniach (czuć zapach palącej się folii)
lub też porzucają w lasach i innych miejscach. Należałoby zachęcać rolników o jak najliczniejsze zawieranie umów na wywóz odpadów i śmieci z Urzędem Gminy.
Rolnicy prowadzą znaczącą wycinkę drzew, które są pozyskiwane z lasów, jak też łąk na drewno opałowe.
Obserwując porosty nadrzewne, można stwierdzić brak zatruć powietrza tlenkiem siarki.
Pochodzi on ze spalania węgla kamiennego. W lasach znajdują się niewielkie gabarytowo, ale liczne ilościowo porzucenia śmieci, które wypełniają przydrożne rowy, zagłębienia jak też dowolne miejsca. Wobec spadku liści nie można jednoznacznie stwierdzić, kiedy porzucenia miały miejsce (prawdopodobnie w sezonie letnim). Są to przede wszystkim butelki plastikowe i szklane, folie (w tym torby), są też np. puszki, pampersy itp. Porzucone odpady zdarzają się również w rowach wzdłuż dróg i prawdopodobnie są wyrzucane z przejeżdżających samochodów.
Przez teren Gminy Stanin przebiegają dość ruchliwe drogi łączące Łuków z Żelechowem oraz Łuków ze Stoczkiem Łukowskim, które mają liczne wyboje, nierówności. Brak chodników łączących poszczególne wsie sprawia, że piesi bądź rowerzyści korzystają z jezdni. W okresie wiosennym wędrujące żaby w okresie godowym i inne zwierzęta są rozjeżdżane przez samochody.
W związku z realizacją projektu Comenius „Foreing Mirrors” wnioskujemy o przeprowadzenie akcji propagujących ochronę środowiska i edukację ekologiczną w szkołach i wśród lokalnej społeczności. Proponowanym przez nas działaniem jest stworzenie darmowych ulotek rozdawanych na terenie Gminy Stanin. W celu poprawienia bezpieczeństwa na drogach należy wybudować ścieżki rowerowe lub chodniki łączące poszczególne miejscowości.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS IN POLAND REPORT
The area of Stanin Province is strongly connected to farming and agriculture which is the main source of income of the inhabitants of this region. There is not much industry. All the contamination and pollution are caused by the agriculture and farming, meaning the chemical fertilizers and other chemical substances used in the farming. Another source of pollution are the households. Namely, the inhabitants who do not respect nature and dispose of their rubbish everywhere. Very often, they use the plastic bottles and other waste products to heat their houses, as a result we introduce all kinds of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Generally they do not have any filters in the chimneys, so the air becomes polluted easily. In the woods the wild dumps are very common. The government tries to fight this phenomenon but it is the struggle with the windmills, because people are not aware of the danger that the contaminated environment stands for.
In the rivers from this region one might observe a various forms of live. For instance, there live the Canadian Waterweed, sticklebacks and invertebrates. The rivers are surrounded by the water-meadows. The organoleptic examination of the water samples reveals the absence of any organic pollution. The water is colourless and odourless. Such situation rarely ever happens in other parts of the country or even world. Unfortunately, due to the careless behavior of people, the rivers, once clean and with transparent water, become filled with things like empty bottles, non biodegradable objects like plastic bags, broken electronic equipment, articles of vulcanised rubber etc.
The Province offers a possibility of free disposal of assorted rubbish. You have to pay for the rubbish which is not sorted because it cannot be recycled. Most of the inhabitants have signed the agreements with the municipality regulating the terms and conditions of waste disposal. It is unknown what happens to the household rubbish of those who did not sign the agreement. Probably, they are burnt in the boiler houses or they end up in the woods. People should be encouraged to draw up more agreements with the local department responsible for the rubbish collection.
The logging by farmers is also very widespread. Lots of trees are being cut. The wood is used as a combustible. Another very popular combustible is the hard coal. Nevertheless, the presence of lichen shows that the air is not seriously polluted with the sulphoxide being the byproduct in the process of combustion of the hard coal.
In our province there is not enough sidewalks, and there are no bicycle paths which poses a serious communication problem. Moreover, the condition of the roads leaves also a lot to be desired. The pavement of the most of the roads is not even. The damaged pavement is the cause of many car accidents and collisions.
We, the students of Zespół Szkół w Tuchowiczu are engaged in the Comenius Project Foreign Mirrors. The main concern of the Project is the protection of the natural environment. We think that in our community should there be conducted a pro-ecological action. We propose to make a free leaflets and distribute them in schools and among the inhabitants of Stanin Province. In order to improve the safety on the roads the bicycle paths or sidewalks among the villages should be created.
